How To Stop Windows Update?

By default, Windows will automatically look for updates, download, install them, and inform you when the process is complete.

But if you are in an area where high-speed Internet is not available, this option is not favorable because all of your Internet bandwidth will be tied up by Windows Update while updates are being downloaded. Therefore, Windows Update is completely customizable.

1. In the Control Panel’s System and Security window, click the Windows Update link to open the Windows Update window.

Or, Click the Start button, type upd in the Search box of the Start menu, and choose Windows Update from the menu to open the Windows Update window.

2. Click Change settings.

3. In the windows update setting window, specify Never check for update.

4. When you complete click Ok.
