1. Open Multiple Pages on Startup
Like Internet Explorer, Google chrome allows users to open multiple web pages on start up. Follow steps to set multiple start up page.
1. Open Google Chrome -> Click on Settings.
2. Under the On startup menu, click on “Set Pages”.
3. To add another start-up page, Click the Add New Page field and then type the address of the other start-up page and then press Enter and then click on Ok. Similarly you can add more pages as startup pages.
4. Close and Restart the Google Chrome. Now you can see websites specified have been opened as start-up pages.
2. Pin Sites to the Chrome Toolbar
You can pin website tabs to the Google Chrome toolbar to help reduce clutter, and always have your favorite websites open and accessible with one click.
1. Simply navigate to the websites you want to pin and click “Pin Tab”.
2. Your pinned tabs will always stay there and will open when starting Chrome. You can simply unpin them by right clicking and selecting “Unpin Tab“
3. Reopen Recently Closed tab
If you’ve closed a tab by mistake, you can open it by pressing Ctrl + Shift + T, (or) right mouse-click on the empty area in the title-bar and select “Reopen closed tab” as shown below.
4. Display Home Button
By default, chrome doesn’t display the ‘Home’ button in the toolbar.
1. Open Google Chrome -> Click on Settings.
2. Under the ‘Appearance’ Menu, mark on “Show Home button” and then Click on “Change”.
3. Choose “Open this page” and type the address of your preferred Home page in the field and then click the Ok button.
This will now display the ‘Home’ button in front of the URL field. Click this button to go to your home page quickly.
5. Chrome:// commands
We all used Google Chrome address bar just to enter website address or to search in Google. However, this address bar can be also used to run chrome command to access certain features. There are various about command that you can type in the address bar.
6. Task Manager
Task manager displays the memory and CPU usage of the Chrome browser, broken down by each and every Tab. 7. Navigate Between Tabs Quickly
There are different ways to switch tabs using keyboard shortcuts like:
-> To switch to the next tab: Ctrl+Tab or Ctrl+PgDown
-> To switch to the previous tab: Ctrl+Shift+Tab or Ctrl+PgUp
-> To switch to a specific tab: Ctrl+1 to Ctrl+8
-> To switch to the last tab: Ctrl+9
8. Change Font Size of Content
Google Chrome enables you to change the minimum font size for Web pages you view with the browser. You can adjust the size of everything on the webpages you visit, including text, images, and videos. By changing the minimum font size in Google Chrome, you will no longer have to zoom in and out on these pages. Some websites prevent the browser from changing just text size. For those sites, Chrome won’t be able to adjust the font size.
1. Lunch the Google Chrome, Click the Chrome menu on the browser toolbar and then select settings.
2. The Google chrome setting dialog box open, now click Show Advanced Settings and then scroll down to the Web content section.
3. In the Web Content section, use the Page zoom drop-down menu to adjust the zoom and use the Font size drop-down menu to adjust the size of text on webpages.
9. Highlight a Text and Search
When you are browsing a website, if you come across some word that you are not familiar with and like to perform a google search on it, just double-click on the text to high-light it, right mouse-click, and select “Search google for”, which will open a new Tab and search for the selected text. This saves some time.
